HOME TO BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
ESSEX YOUTH 16 - 1 BUCKINGHAMSHIRE YOUTH

UNDER 18S

We had seven new players called up for this match and three players moving up to under 21s from under 18s.

This was a great performance from our players with many of them playing on stage for the first time.

Our under 18s got us of to a fantastic start with five of them playing their first games giving us a 9-0 victory in there section.

James Smith, who only joined us towards the end of last season, produced a great MOM performance with a 24.44 average. Rhys Hayden got us up and running with a 2-0 victory and a 22.23 average.

Liam Fairclough then carried on the good work with a 2-0 win and a 14.52 average. Then Bradley Halls had a hard contest with his opponent going 1-0 down and fighting back to win 2-1 with a 18.56 average.

Adam Gwilliams was next on the oche but went 1-0 down – he quickly overcome his nerves to get his first 2-1 win with a 16.66 average.

Joe Russell came on showing lots of confidence producing a 14.31 average and a 2-0 win. Next up was our MOM James Smith who produced a 20 dart leg and 21 dart leg and a 180 in a great 2-0 win.

Ben Austin gave a steady performance with a 2-0 win and a 19.65 average. Tommy Wilson (always confident) produced a 2-0 victory with an 80 finish to clinch a win with an average of 18.56.

It was a nervous George Cove next on the oche not wanting to get the first loss of the day and get us a 9-0 result. He soon got to grips and produced a steady 2-1 win with a 15.84 average. A fantastic 9-0 win.

MANAGERS COMMENTS: A great performance by all of you - your determination and attitude was spot on if you all carry on like this you will have a great future in darts you were a credit to Essex. WELL DONE!!

.
UNDER 21s GIRLS

This was another good performance from our girls as they kicked their season off to defend the league title.

First up was Steph Hewson who came up against a very good young lady. Steph played some great darts scoring a 140 with her first three darts and a 125 in her second leg but unfortunately could not overcome her opponent and lost 2-0 with a 13.33 average.

Stacey Ellis in her debut game had a great start getting a 2-0 victory with a lady of the match performance with an average of 15.90.

Last on was our ever reliable Rosie Baldwin. Needing to win to gain victory for the girls Rosie did what she does best and produced a 2-0 win with a14.96 average to give our ladies a 2-1 victory.

MANAGERS COMMENTS: You ladies never let your team down and I am sure this will be another great season for you. Keep on winning girls.

UNDER 21s BOYS
This looks to be the start of an impressive under 21s team. We had two players in who were playing in the under 18s last season and one of them was first up.

Sam Davidson got off with a great 3-0 victory and a 23.12 average.

Next up was Andrew Currivan our captain who produced two sixteen dart legs to go two nil up before going on to take a 3-0 win with a MOM performance and an average of 25.47.

Dan Bowers, who has recently had a dip in form, stepped up to win the match with 3-1 win and an average of 20.54.

Next up was Liam Showell (who always worries about being dropped – but I have no idea why he should think this). He gives forth battling performances and with skills like this will always find the result he wants. Liam had a great 3-2 result with an average of 19.51.

Last up was Steve Haggerty. It is always hard to play the last game but Steve, as always, did a great job with 3-1 victory and a 21.28 average. A great 5-0 win.

MANAGERS COMMENTS: A great start to the season boys keep it going.
